Crocodile Dock Vacation Bible School

June 22- 26, 2009

We just completed our annual Vacation Bible School and it was a blast.   Even though Dennis & Rebekah were too young to attend, they still visited our "swamp" every day.  The set was amazing, thanks to my brother-in-law Paul.   We were really able to capture that Bayou feel on our main stage, complete with a boat and even a few crocs!  I have been the VBS director for 10 years now and it's all possible due to the spectacular group of volunteers who help me pull it off.    It is really one of my highlights each year.  To think I started this program a decade ago for a special little girl in my life, Lydia.   The fact that this would be her final year to attend made this week particularly emotional for me.  I'm not sure that I have 10 more years in me until Rebekah is through 6th grade, but I'll give it a try.  We had a marvelous week learning new bible stories, making crafts, playing games  and watching many children discover the love of Jesus.   For more photos of our week, click here.                                

Our Finished Pool Deck

Our deck has been up for three seasons now, but the spindles have just been completed.   Tim and his Dad worked during our vacation in May to get it finished for this year.    I spent many hours staining all those spindles and the rails, which was not an easy task with all the rain we had in May/ June.   We are very pleased with how it looks and the kids love it too.    We still have some more landscaping around a few of the sides to finish, but most of the work is now done.   For more photos of our deck, click here.

Michael's Fun House

Announcing the newest place on Starkacres:  Michael's Fun House.    Our son has been wanting to do a web show for quite some time now.   He's filming, "directing", and editing his footage into small videos that we will load onto You Tube.    Be sure and check his link to see the new things he posts and get some insight into our world.
